How many doctors do you think will quit or retire if this health care bill passes?
I ask this because a lot of doctors do not accept or have limited acceptance of medicaid and medicare patients due to the fact of how slow the government is to pay and how little they pay for services.
Also what is the incentive to go to medical school for 10 (+) years and borrow a hundred thousand dollars for tution and pay outrageaous medical malpratice insurance just to be told that you are now a government employee with a capped salary.
I am not a moron. I live in a town that has 10 general family doctors. 4 of them do not accept medicare and medicaid patients. 2 of them only accept a limited number of these patients. One of them happens to be my family doctor and I asked him one day about this and he said they were slow to pay and they pay the minimum amount possible. He just couldn’t afford to take them as patients.
I can’t believe how few people see that this outcome is inevitable! We may not have a shortage of doctors as there will always be people willing to work but we will absolutely lose our best across the board. Obama says people become doctors to help people when the reality is they sacrifice as much as they do in order to have a great income.
